Description

Akashi Whisky is the only whisky in the world that is produced under the supervision of a grand master of sake making, a Toji.
Thus, many sake making methods are implemented in the production of the whisky.

The White Oak AKASHI Blended Whisky is a typical Japanese blend.
30% malted barley and 70% grain are used for this whisky.
The maturation lasts at least five years; three years in Hogsheads and two years in white oak casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Buttered hot cross buns, chocolate peanuts, lemongrass and a light hint of spicy rye grain.

Palate: Cherry bakewells and walnut loaf. Sweet cereals with a dusting of nutmeg and black pepper.

Finish: Medium length. Quite sweet with dried apricot and a touch of oatcake.
