Description
Masahiro Distillery was founded in 1883 by Shobun Higa, whose father Shozoku Higa was the master chef of the old Ryukyu Kingdom.
With the help of Shozoku Higa’s reputation and connections, the distillery was licensed to produce the traditional Okinawan spirit “awamori” and has since established itself as one of Okinawa’s oldest and largest distilleries.
Shozoku’s passion for cuisine is still reflected in Masahiro Distillery’s corporate philosophy of producing only the finest spirits.
Masahiro Pure Malt Whisky is a blended malt that is aged for more than three years in Old Sherry Butt and Bourbon casks, followed by a maturation of at least six months in Jack Daniel’s First Fill Bourbon casks.
