Description
The Monkey Shoulder is a triple distilled whiskey from three different Speyside Distilleries. Exactly 27 barrels are blended for this. The Monkey Shoulder comes from the barrels of the three distilleries Balvenie, Glenfiddich and Kininvie. The youthful freshness of the individual whiskeys lends Monkey Shoulder tart elegance and a pleasant lightness. Maybe too light for malt purists, but just right for all those who want to extend their whiskey with soda without blushing. In distillery slang, a monkey shoulder refers to the shoulder disease that distillery workers used to contract when shoveling malt for hours. Whiskey Magazine voted Monkey Shoulder the best blended malt whiskey of 2007 in issue 04/07. The whiskey is made by William Grant, who also produce the Balvenie whiskey.
